On 16 May a bill to vastly improve Australia's country-of-origin food labelling was introduced to the Australian Senate by Greens leader Christine Milne.

The bill will, amongst other things, do away with vague and confusing claims such as "made from local and imported ingredients".

This breakthrough comes after CHOICE's sustained campaign for a clearer country-of-origin food labelling system for Australians. We have been able to do this because of the efforts of our supporters.

However there is still work to do.

CHOICE will continue to work with all sides of politics to try and secure support for the legislation. We hope we can count on your support.
