This week's show features stories from Spanish National Radio, Radio Deutsche-Welle, Radio Havana Cuba, the Voice of Russia, and NHK World Radio Japan.
From SPAIN- The governing party in Spain has been rocked by revelations of secret slush funds, with accusations that the Prime Minister Rajoy was involved. Spain has seen a 3 day high school student strike against spending cuts and the educational reform bill. Greece's Finance Minister was sent a bullet and a death threat over home foreclosures. Iran warned Israel of retaliation over the air strikes in Syria last week.
From GERMANY- France wants the UN to prepare to send a peacekeeping force to Mali by April. The British Parliament has passed a bill to legalize same sex marriage. The President of the European Parliament has warned that the survival of the European Union is under threat. Foreclosures and homeowners evictions continue to increase in Europe, but some citizens in Ireland have organized to protect homeowners.
From CUBA- As the Colombian government continues peace talks with revolutionaries from FARC, accusations of crimes against humanity have been leveled against former President Uribe. The New York Times revealed that the US has had a secret drone base in Saudi Arabia since 2011.
From RUSSIA- In the US there are many people disappointed by recent rulings on cyber warfare, drones, and American citizens being placed on kill lists. Charlottesville Virginia became the first US city to pass anti-drone legislation.
From JAPAN- The tension between Japan and China escalated further when a Chinese frigate locked its fire control radar on a Japanese destroyer. The Chinese government is admitting that half of the population has been experiencing serious air pollution in recent weeks. I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at http://radio.mediageek.net
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
NEW TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PDST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via
Podcast- feed://www.radio4all.net/responder.php/podcast/podcast.xml?series=outFarpress+p...
I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
