Over 15 000 ocean lovers have contacted John West expressing their concern.
Today we’ve escalated our campaign against John West and it involves a giant can of tuna oozing fake blood.
This is a little gruesome, but John West is responsible for the needless slaughter of hundreds of tonnes of marine life every year. Its headquarters has now had a makeover that reflects what happens at sea and out of the public eye.
Since we launched our campaign exposing John West’s use of destructive fishing practices, the company has responded by claiming to be “sustainable.” But John West has made no commitment to responsible fishing methods.
This campaign is having an impact – John West is hoping this attention will go away. It is avoiding media calls and is not answering consumer concerns on social media.
We now need to let the Australia’s largest tuna brand know even more people want it to commit to sustainable fishing practices. Please add your voice.

MANAGING DIRECTOR
Your actions are important. You have the power to influence brands and hold them accountable. When we released our first Canned Tuna Guide in 2009 there was only one sustainable tuna option available in Australia, and it was produced by a small UK company.
Today there are 8 sustainable options.
This transformation of Australia’s tuna industry was helped by people like you, supporting the investigative work of Greenpeace and demanding change from tuna brands.
Let’s now convince the brand that sells over one third of all canned tuna in Australia to make a true commitment to ocean protection.
Tell John West to “be its best.”
Thank you.
