Unions back the fight for Aboriginal rights in the NT - public meeting next Tuesday

Come hear about the struggles against the NT Intervention (renamed “stronger futures”), income management and the proposed Muckaty radioactive waste dump.

Many unions have been actively involved in assisting and campaigning with communities on the “intervention” – what does the new policy mean? Help raise awareness about the impact on communities who will live under the “stronger futures” legislation.

Aboriginal people must be free to determine their own futures. Government initiatives must support the right of Aboriginal people to maintain their own languages, cultural practices and the capacity to live and work on country.

Hosted by the CFMEU and MUA, this session will include a panel of inspirational speakers and will focus on campaigning and actions to support our indigenous brothers and sisters.

The special guest speaker will be Kylie Sambo, a young Muckaty Traditional Owner and hip hop artist from Tennant Creek in the NT. Please click link below to watch Kylie's film clip for her deadly song 'Muckaty'.
