Indymedia and many other social and environmental justice groups are hosted for free by our friends at Axxs.org.
It's a service we tend to take for granted, but it costs Axxs coordinator Dave thousands of dollars each year and many working hours to keep the server running for our groups. He often does pro-bono work for our groups in his own time and is a reliable geek when you need one.
As coordinator of Axxs he has sucessfully faced down many legal threats from corporations and individuals opposed to the activist content hosted on the Axxs server over the years guaranteeing the continuance of our protest where other commercial hosts might have
caved in. The content on Axxs includes important workers, human rights and environmental campaigns from over the world, and independent media portal Indymedia Australia.
Axxs is increasingly under financial strain to keep the server going. I know that he and Axxs really values the work we all do and would not want to lose the server for lack of funds, but we all have to eat and pay rent!
