Strategic workshop on implementation of the Declaration

The Foundation for Aboriginal and Islander Research Action (FAIRA)calls for expressions of interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and individuals interested in participation in a workshop on the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

This workshop will be of interest to participants in the Indigenous Peoples Organisations meetings and others who have an interest in, and knowledge of, the relevant human rights or indigenous rights structures at the national and international levels.

The workshop is being held in Brisbane on 27 and 28 April 2011, so urgent responses are needed.

Participants will be responsible for their own costs of attendance.

This workshop will undertake to develop effective strategies for implementation of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the report on Australia by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. The outcomes from this workshop will be presented to the Indigenous Peoples Organisations for consideration and endorsement. It will also be circulated widely amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities for responses.

There are only limited places so early responses are recommended to ensure a place in the workshop.

Workshop sessions will be led by experts including:

Les Malezer, FAIRA
Mick Gooda, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice
Commissioner
Brian Wyatt, National Native Title Council
(Invitation has also been sent to Megan Davis, Member of UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues)

Please reply to this email with your expression of interest or send to les.malezer@faira.org.au. For any further information please call Les Malezer on mobile 0419 710720.

Please note that this workshop is happening in April to ensure that strategic information is available before the next session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, and to coincide with Australia's response to the UN Human Rights Council on the Universal Periodic Review of Australia.

FAIRA
President: Les Malezer. This is the title that Les uses in his Communications and Misrepresentations with the United Nations. And in general. This organisation is Defunct and Does Not Exist any-more !!
Les is always at pains to conceal this information.

“Workshop sessions will be led by experts”
Experts ? Self appointed !! This is what these people do. Appoint Themselves and Each-other !! And unfortunately ( for us ! ) they get away with it. Mainly because the vast majority of Aboriginal People don't engage with or follow politics in general and Aboriginal politics in particular. The first because of the demographics and we can only ever “just make up the numbers” ( it has all been discussed and identified many times before ) And the later ? Well for one, the control ( of Services etc. and the money ) and the involvement is only ever these, self, Government and Media Appointed Spokespeople, Experts and Negotiators. The Aboriginal Elite. Including many out of touch Aboriginal Academics. So-called Leaders. Leaders of no-one. Many ex-ATSIC. “Experts” in Accessing Government Money !! And they support each other. Mick Gooda ? don't know what he's an expert on. Megan Davis ? Another "government only" appointee. Les Malezer ? an Expert and Serial, "Self-Appointee" !! Spokesperson, Negotiator, Representative you name it he's Appointed Himself ! ( he's good ! And tricky ! Very Tricky !! ) And with a gift of $50,000 from FAHCSIA not long back, and ya ( don't ) wonder why !!

“Please note that this workshop is happening in April to ensure that strategic information is available before the “next session of the UN Permanent Forum” on Indigenous Issues, and to coincide with Australia’s response to the UN Human Rights Council on the Universal Periodic Review of Australia” Les Malezer.
This is the “real” agenda. These, “Around”, and “Out of This World” and “Over To Geneva Trips” It's not about Aboriginal Rights. UN participation has delivered Les Malezer a “Luxurious Lifestyle” including, “Unlimited overseas Travel”.Stuff that he would normal, only be able to “Dream” and to “Fantasise”about. And it's very hard to give up. !! We understand this !! But It is Time to “Move On” Les, “We Know What Our Rights Are” !! CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND THIS !!??
STOP TRYING TO FORCE AND TO IMPOSE YOUR PERSONAL AGENDAS ON ALL US OTHER BLACK-FELLAS !!
WE DON'T WANT THEM !! WE “CAN” AND “WILL” SOLVE OUR OWN PROBLEMS.AND IN-HOUSE.
AND “WITHOUT YOU” !! SO STOP DELUDING YOURSELF AND “MOVE ON" !!

“The outcomes from this workshop will be presented to the Indigenous Peoples Organisations for consideration and endorsement. It will also be circulated widely amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities for responses”
More misrepresentation and misleading from Les Malezer and Co.
The vast majority of Aboriginal and Islander People have no idea about this “Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples” and do not engage in any consultations or discussion in the nature of “Aboriginal Politics”. Get away from what has been identefied as the “Aboriginal Elite” and discover this. For more info on this issue, www.whitc.info
