Campaign for truth - 80 years after striking wharfie shot by police

On November 7th a memorial is being held for Allan Whittaker, a striking wharfie shot by police in Port Melbourne in 1928. This is part of a campaign by activists and historians to have the whitewashed investigation by police re-opened and the truth finally told. The Age published on the 6/11/10 entitled Truth was first casualty of 1928 war on the waterfront.
