Qld citizens network forms to fight civil liberties "crackdown"

A packed meeting of more than 70 concerned citizens and representatives from community organisations founded a new campaigning organisation at Brisbane's Electrical Trades Union hall on Wednesday night, responding to what organisers called "an unprecedented crackdown on civil liberties in Queensland".

The Queensland Civil Liberties Network was born amid cheers from meeting participants who set about planning a series of protest actions over coming months, including a rally and march to fall on Parliament's first sitting day, February 11 2014.

Premier Campbell Newman opens up logging destruction in Queensland native forests

The Queensland Premier and Government have reopened logging in native forests with 2 million hectares of state forest being made initially available for environmental destruction. This will impact on habitat for endangered species, biodiversity and the huge carbon stores locked up in mature forests. Mature forests also tend to hold more moisture and are less susceptible to bushfire, and absorb more water during floods - providing a natural flood mitigation service, a natural service that is all the more needed with the increase in rainfall and extreme whether events with climate change. Mr Newman said his" first 100 days in office had been a lot of fun and very, very rewarding to get on with what we'd said we'd do, particularly on the cost-of-living stuff".

I am so relieved the Christian Premier Newman, who told the media he prays every night, really enjoys his very powerful job.

And I wonder if he prays for my innocent, victimised and repeatedly falsely locked-up, falsely prosecuted and systematically suppressed son Jordan every night also?

Does he really care about all the harm this did to Jordan and me?
