In the land of the ‘FREE’, Wall Street protestors campaigning against social injustice, inequality, unemployment, corporate powers, cost of living and hardship have constantly been arrested and evicted by authorities.

Occupy Melbourne has moved into a new phase of the movement after agreeing unanimously at the 28th General Assembly to adopt a short/medium-term strategy involving an expansion to multiple occupation sites and targeted occupations.

The strategy involves both maintaining a Base Occupation & Forward/Mobile Occupations, and co-ordinating an ongoing series Targeted Occupations (such as Occupy Ports in the US). Occupy Melbourne is waiting on confirmation on a potential site for the Base Occupation on private land, where infrastructure to build and support the movement can be established.

Another absurd and disturbing "tent arrest" but you can join the "tent fightback" on the 10th of December

Occupy Melbourne Tent Monster "The Baron" was arrested after midnight on Wednesday night. Once again the absurd yet disturbing nature of State harrassment of this movement was highlighted. Many police clinically and very forcefully tried to remove the tent costume from "The Baron" as he stood his ground in a dignified and non-violent way. He insisted the tent costume was a form of political expression and was in fact a "protest sign". He refused to let it go despite painful force being used against hi. When they were unable to remove it from him they put in the divvy van under arrest whilst the frame was still around him.

Sarah, the Occupy Melbourne protestor stripped publically of her "tent dress" in Flagstaff Gardens has applied for an intervention order against police. As reported in the Sydney Morning Herald and on Ninemsn Sarah went to the court on December the 7th to make her application.

Occupy Melbourne “Tent Monster” stripped and assaulted by Council workers and police

A day after the video of Occupy Melbourne “Tent Monsters” went viral, revealing the absurdity of the Melbourne City Council and police harassment of Occupy Melbourne, the authorities have responded with another display of brutality. As if offended by the display of non-violent creative resistance police and council officers today stripped “Tent Monster” Sarah of her the tent she was wearing as her clothes. Despite being repeatedly told she was not wearing any clothes other than the tent, it was removed with some violence, leaving her only clad in her underwear in a public park.

Woman sexually assaulted at OM: Officer identified

Truth Media has identified the main officer responsible for a serious attack in Melbourne today. (see attached file) An innocent 20 year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a gang of Melbourne City Council and Victoria Police Officers in Flagstaff Gardens. She was protesting against the unjust power of corporations as part of 'Occupy Melbourne'. There is no suggestion that the pig has done anything unlawful.

TUESDAY, 6th DECEMBER, 2011 This morning at 8:45am a peaceful Occupy Melbourne Protester was forcibly stripped of her protest costume and discarded on the ground in her underwear in public.

The individual in question was part of the Occupy Melbourne protest and was dressed in a protest costume made from a converted tent. The significance of the costume was to highlight restrictions placed on protesters staging a 24/7 protest in Flagstaff Gardens.

Liberty Victoria condemns police action at Occupy Melbourne protest

6 December 2011 Liberty Victoria today condemned police interference with Occupy Melbourne demonstrators in the Flagstaff Gardens this morning, 6 December 2011. At approximately 8.30 am, several police officers approached a female demonstrator who was wearing a small tent.

This appeared to be the demonstrator’s way of protesting against an instruction by Melbourne City Council that no tents should be permitted in the Gardens.

Occupy Melbourne Tent Monsters chase off the Victoria Police!

Occupy Melbourne's strategy of "going mobile" to get around the "Notice to comply" orders, continually issued against them by the Melbourne City Council and enforced by the police, was taken to a whole other level today 4th December. Watch the video below to see the Occupy Melbourne "tent monsters" emerge from their tents and literally chase the confused police and council officers out of the Flagstaff Gardens. This is a beautiful example of how creative non-violence can use humour to highlight and undermine the absurd use of state power. The hilarity of these actions does not change the fact that the State is trying to prevent Occupy Melbourne through constant harassment from creating a public space to discuss and organise for a fairer, peaceful and more sustainable world. On the 5th of December the Federal Court will hear a case testing the legality of the Melbourne City Council's actions against OM. May their spirit of resistance stay strong - get down there and support them!

Occupy Melbourne returned the favour on Robert Doyle by launching a non-violent "raid" during the latest Council meeting. An obviously uncomfortable Robert Doyle and councillors listened to a "mic check" delivered message from Occupy Melbourne, which incidentally is a pretty good summary of why the Occupation exists (its better than the draft declaration if you ask me).

Mobile Occupy Melbourne outfoxes council and police

The last few days have seen Occupy Melbourne develop some very creative tactics to prevent the convisgation of their property by the Melbourne City Council and Police. On Friday 25th of November after the Council served Notice of Compliance on the camp and came down with police protestors took their gear and left the park. However this wasn't enough a police and the police gave chase to the tents! One protestor, Sean Bedlam was arrested for "hindering council officers" whilst sitting on a tarp on the footpath outside the park.

At the 21st General Assembly of Occupy Melbourne held tonight a proposal to reaffirm non violent direct action was defeated. Specifically the motion attempted to clear up what was and was not appropriate action taken on behalf of Occupy Melbourne. The non violence advocated was for non violence against persons and property. This non violence policy was quite heavily defeated on the floor of the GA.

There was a fruitful discussion on the draft declaration at last night's Occupy Melbourne General Assembly. A member of the declaration working group invited feedback in the form of changes in wording relating to substantive issues with the document. Here are my suggestions:
