Sustainable community living and peaceful direct action targeting Australia's largest source of domestic emissions - Bayswater Power Station. If you’re concerned about the future and want to do something about it, Climate Camp is for you. If you’ve never been to a protest before or are a seasoned activist, join all kinds of concerned people in a well-supported, non-violent direct action camp near Bayswater Power Station in the Hunter Valley.

'Climate Camp' is a mass gathering of Australians from diverse walks of life, people serious about the need for a safe climate future. Together we'll camp at Lake Liddell Recreation Area. Our collective action will target Bayswater power station - the equal largest source of CO2 emissions in the country. While world leaders meet at the UN global climate talks in Mexico, we will be sending our message of climate action to the world.

By participating in Climate Camp, we are coming together to draw attention to the denial, greed and carbon polluting agendas of government and big business. We are showcasing the strong community motivation for a different direction. We are putting our personal conviction into collective action, being a part of the positive solution away from coal power and into smarter alternatives.

It will be five days of learning, planning, sustainable living and action on climate change: the issues, the solutions, the politics and the movement. A programme with everything from street theatre to climate science will keep you entertained and informed. And of course there will be ample opportunities to get prepared for non-violent direct action.

The camp finale will be a creative and peaceful mass action at Bayswater power station. The action will be safe and inclusive, as everyone can choose their own limits and how they would like to participate. Most of the action will have police approval.

Camping will be organised into neighbourhoods to help provide a friendly atmosphere where no one is left out. Most meals will be self catered and organised in neighbourhoods, but the Chai Tent will supply some food and many hot cups of chai!
