Free UWA Screening of ‘No Fire Zone’ Documentary:
The University of Western Australia are presenting a free screening of 'No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka'. Produced by Nobel Peace Prize Nominated Director Callum Macrae, 'No Fire Zone' is a powerful documentary that follows the final stages of the war in Northern Sri Lanka, where the Sri Lankan Government encouraged hundreds of thousands of Tamil civilians to gather in “No Fire Zones”, where they said they would be safe. Drawing on video footage from those who were there, 'No Fire Zone' documents what happened during those final days.
As international concerns grow over reported human rights violations in Sri Lanka which the United Nations is currently investigating, the documentary highlights why deep concerns about the Sri Lankan's Government's reported human rights abuses still exist.
