"If the Adani Carmichael coal mine goes ahead, it will require millions of tonnes of dredging at Abbot Point, 80 km from the Whitsundays, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. It will also mean hundreds more coal ships crossing the Reef. The project is not only environmentally damaging, it is financially risky. International banks have turned away in droves. But now the Abbott Government is considering using taxpayer money to fund the mine. Please sign the petition and tell them this is unacceptable! ... "
