For the first time in Australian history homeless people will address a senate inquiry. The group from Rockingham in Western Australia's South west are taking their plight to the Federal Government in a bid to get the basic human right to shelter. The group have a simple short term proposal for a safe and secure park-up area for the homeless so that they can sleep unhindered by the violence of the streets and the constant harassment and so that they can have access to shower and toilet facilities. The senate hearing is on Tuesday November 11, Perth.

With thanks to Jane Hammond for this piece.
