24 Apr 14: "In a dramatic follow-up to the "rates dispute" between the Brewarrina Shire Council and the Euahlayi Peoples of far north-western New South Wales and southwest Queensland, the New South Wales Supreme Court has dismissed the Euahlayi People’s subpoena claiming the Euahlayi are "oppressing" the State of New South Wales."
"In the "rates dispute" between the Brewarrina Shire Council and the Euahlayi Nation, the NSW Supreme Court has dismissed a subpoena claiming the Euahlayi are "oppressing" the State and the matter has been put over until 20 June 2014. Mr Anderson, Head of State of Euahlayi Peoples Republic and Convenor of the Sovereign Union said that this confirms that the nature of Australian society and its laws are a fraud and that they operate a nation state on lands seized by murder and not by consent."" A group of Indigenous people and their supporters will be wearing black in honour of those killed in the frontier war during the early days of Australian colonisation. Participants will be carrying banners to identify the massacres that happened during the war. Tomorrow’s parade aims to raise awareness of what happened and to remember the dead.

* ABORIGINAL PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT: ANZAC CELEBRATIONS HIDE AUSTRALIA'S SHAME - DOUBLE STANDARDS ON HISTORIC SACRIFICE- NO MONUMENTS OR HOLIDAYS FOR THE ABORIGINAL FALLEN

- Media Release

Aboriginal Provisional Government: ANZAC celebrations hide Australia's shame - double standards on historic sacrifice- no monuments or holidays for the Aboriginal fallen
http://www.apg.org.au/
24 Apr 14: "Michael Mansell argues that ANZAC Day, like Australia Day, is another step by white Australia in promoting its pioneer image while ignoring its ill-treatment of Aboriginal people.
"The essence of ANZAC remembrance", he said, "is the honouring of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us. The ANZAC’s did not fight for Aborigines-they fought for whites. Those Aborigines slaughtered by white invaders in their quest for our lands are who should be remembered and honoured, yet there are no monuments, and no holidays for the fallen victims of that war. Australia turns a convenient blind-eye to this genocide because the facts do not sit well with a country that celebrates all that is white, glossing over the shocking harm meted out to Aborigines.
Like Australia Day promotions that spins a racist event into a national day of celebration, ANZAC Day has its roots in the belief in white supremacy. The war in Turkey was not for the benefit of Aboriginals: the whites had taken our lands already, so what were we defending? Australia sent an army to help mother-England, not Aborigines". ... Close to RMIT and the City Baths, it is believed to be the actual hanging site." Carolyn Webb, Reporter for The Age

The Conversation: Aboriginal people - how to misunderstand their science
http://theconversation.com/aboriginal-people-how-to-misunderstand-their-...
21 Apr 14: "Just one generation ago Australian schoolkids were taught that Aboriginal people couldn’t count beyond five, wandered the desert scavenging for food, had no civilisation, couldn’t navigate and peacefully acquiesced when Western Civilisation rescued them in 1788. How did we get it so wrong? Australian historian Bill Gammage and others have shown that for many years land was carefully managed by Aboriginal people to maximise productivity. This resulted in fantastically fertile soils, now exploited and almost destroyed by intensive agriculture. ... 19 Apr 14: "The 2014 Walkatjurra Walkabout will begin Thursday at Yeelirrie Station, Western Australia’s biggest uranium deposit, now owned by one of the world’s biggest uranium companies – Cameco. Elders from across the nation will lead the fourth Walkatjurra Walkabout, through Country in opposition to the proposed Yeelirrie uranium mine. Western Australia is on the brink of large scale uranium mining across the State. The walks have been a cultural exchange, learning about Country and culture, and about the Elders-led resistance to the nuclear industry and the potential destruction of Country by uranium mining."
